HISTORY AND COMPANY
A secular farm of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, that of Volpe Pasini has always been linked to wine production, to the point that the first documents that testify to the wine-making activity on the estate date back to the XVII century. Since the seventies, however, coming out of that logic that saw wine as a product to be sold loose in a carboy, the Volpe Pasini company was among the first to establish itself as one of the reference wineries in the North-East of Italy , starting to bottle their wines and making them known elegance and refinement not only within the borders of the Peninsula, but all over the world. Since then the growth has been unstoppable, and today Volpe Pasini represents one of the most prestigious wineries not only in the area of the Eastern Hills of Friuli, but of all of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The hectares of vineyards owned are currently over fifty, and at an average altitude of around 160 meters above sea level, on soils rich in sandstone marl, white grapes are bred as much as red grapes. We are on the hills of Prepotto and Togliano, and it is here where the autochthonous grapes of ribolla gialla, friulano and refosco dal peduncolo rosso grow side by side with the international varieties of chardonnay, sauvignon, cabernet, pinot grigio and pinot bianco. Pure and excellent bunches are transformed into wines that, from harvest to harvest, are able to maintain levels of absolute excellence, revealing themselves perfectly recognizable thanks to a total respect of those that are the most intrinsic and natural characteristics of the fruit. Pursuing originality, longevity and pleasantness, in respect of what has always been the rigid corporate philosophy, those labeled "Volpe Pasini" are among the best Friulian wines, expression of a great and unparalleled terroir, capable of offering oenological satisfactions like few other territories I am able to do.
