Manufacturer: Vie di Romans

The Via di Romans winery has been owned by the Gallo family since the early 1900s and owes its name to its location along an ancient Roman road, in the local jargon: Vie di Romans. Since 1978 he has been guided, with passion and competence, by Gianfranco Gallo, who through rigorous and daring viticultural choices, combined with a careful oenological interpretation, affirmed a unique qualitative style and great personality. Already in his youth Gianfranco was recognized as a master in the world of wine, he knew grapes, techniques and methods to produce a wine according to recipe. And so, since 1984, the winery began a path of great growth where the wines spoke of quality and the skilful hand of Gianfranco guided the production and accompanied the processes. The search for ever greater quality has characterized the wine production of Vie di Romans over the past 30 years making it a virtuous model in the Italian wine scene. The almost symbiotic interaction with the Isonzo valley and the search for perfection for the cultivation of the various vineyards in the area characterize the entire production line. Due to the composition of the soil and the climatic conditions, the cultivation of white vines (Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Tocai Friulano) is privileged, all marketed at least 2 years after the harvest, that is to say at the right time of maturation, even if they are not lacking in range of excellent reds based on Merlot. The vineyards are spread over an area of 60 hectares and the yields are kept very low to better concentrate the content of each individual grape. The Vie di Romans wines exalt the best peculiarities of the Friuli Isonzo denomination, posing as great wines with rich and complex aromatic outfit. The quality of the bottles produced is due both to the competence of Gianfranco Gallo and to the unique characteristics of the terroir, among which stands out the red soil, rich in skeleton, of iron and aluminum oxides. All this has contributed to making Vie di Romans one of the protagonists of the Italian wine star system, with strong historical labels that have become reference models throughout Friuli and beyond. A prestigious wine cellar, a guarantee of quality.
