THE STORY TOLD
My name is Luciano Cesarini and I come from Bastardo.
After graduating in electro-technical engineering in Bologna, I am forced to go home because my father dies in an accident and my brother Giuseppe and I have to take over the family business, operating in the electricity distribution sector. Despite the first great difficulties we succeed in making the company grow, so much so that after three years I am the regional president of the sector association, and then I become national vice president and finally president.A success story, which however was interrupted in the early 2000s. With the liberalization of the sector, things started to go wrong, and the numerous commitments in Italy and abroad prevented me from dedicating myself to my family and my passion: the countryside.At the time I didn't know much about wine, but there was the possibility of using community funds to start a wine business and my wife Fiorella and my brother Giuseppe were passionate about this product: so we decide to abandon our professions (engineer, veterinary, industrial) to start this new adventure.We decide to build the winery in our country, Bastardo, in an uncontaminated area immersed in the greenery of Umbria and surrounded by numerous medieval castles that are still intact and inhabited. We begin to study, buy the land and design a technologically advanced winery capable of solving the problems commonly encountered during production. Over the years we have developed some convictions that today represent the values of the Company:
NO TO CHEMISTRY, YES TO TECHNOLOGY We have studied innovative technological solutions, some of which are unique in Europe, to minimize the use of chemicals in the vineyard and in the cellar. The result is a natural product, beyond the organic.
BEYOND THE DISCIPLINARY The disciplinary requires a different vinification from that of the oldest Umbrian tradition, limits the talent of the winemaker and takes us away from the tastes of the international consumer. For this reason we prefer IGT vinification: a wine is of quality if it is natural and if it is enjoyed by those who drink it!

For our customers we have no secrets: our offices are separated from the tasting area by a single glass wall. Thanks to the 9 webcams that show the vineyards and the main areas of the cellar 24 hours a day, members of the Club of Unique Wines can monitor all stages of production online, in real time and from anywhere in the world.

The symbol of this commitment is the Rossobastardo Live: a mutual opportunity of visibility for us, a young emerging wine cellar, and young artists from all over the world who come to perform during the biggest festivals.
Today our cellar is considered among the most technologically advanced in Europe and we continue to study to improve the quality of our products.
