HISTORY AND COMPANY
Placed in a dream location, on a hill above Bressanone, at the foot of the Dolomites, Kofererhof saw generations of winegrowers following one another before Gunther Kerschbaumer began bottling their wines in 1995. Since then, the quality has improved from harvest to harvest, and today we can safely consider it among the best Italian bianchisti. Its wines, elegant with great personality and stylistic precision, are the personification of the Isarco Valley. The vineyards grow on the hill around and below the farm, well exposed to the south, with the varieties intelligently positioned at an altitude ranging from 600 meters up to, with the Muller Thurgau, 800 meters. The soil, of morainic origin, tendentially light and sandy, rich in slate and granite, is perfect for the production of sapid and mineral wines, incredibly full of personality and character. Even the strong temperature changes between night and day, especially noticeable in autumn, are ideal to amplify the aromas and aromatic complexity. The skill of Gunther, his innate love for these territories and the pedoclimatic characteristics of the latter are the elements that contribute to giving life to white wines with elegance and truly unique finesse, which reach year after year ever higher quality levels. It is not surprising then, when we write that Gunther can very well be considered one of the most capable bianchisti in Italy: his wines confirm this!
