HISTORY AND COMPANY
Wine-makers for four generations, it was Carlo Vietti who founded the winery in the late nineteenth century, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Langhe. At the beginning of the 1900s, his son Mario started selling the Barolos they had begun to produce, focusing the family business exclusively on winemaking. Starting in the 1960s, her daughter Lucia, together with her husband, oenologist Alfredo Currado, continued the work of the Vietti winery, focusing increasingly on high quality production, and positioning the company among the best in the Langhe, starting since then to export its products to important foreign markets such as the German, Swiss and American markets. Moreover, Alfredo was the first to vinify the individual vineyards separately, in an era like that of the 1960s when Barolo was not conceived as a single "" cru "" wine, but was born from the vinification of all the vineyards together. The other great pioneering vision of Alfredo was that of enhancing the carneis, the indigenous grape variety long forgotten by the producers of the area: the winery began to vinify it in purity, and so did other producers later, bringing along the carneis to be the most important white grape in the area. In 1970 Luciana and Alfredo, great art lovers, thanks to the friendship with some artists, began to change the face of their labels. Since 2000, Mario Cordero and Luca Currado have taken over the entire business property with the withdrawal from their parents' activity, continuing the productive activity always with the greatest respect for tradition but with an open and evolutionary mentality, in search of the highest quality and pleasure of wine . From the 35 hectares of vineyard owned are produced Dolcetto and Barbera "TreVigne", Arneis and Moscato d'Asti Cascinetta, the "cru" Rocche, Brunate, Lazzarito, Ravera and Riserva Villero in Barolo, Masseria nel Barbaresco, Scarrone and Vigna Vecchia in Barbera d'Alba, and, since 1996, La Crena in Barbera d'Asti.
