HISTORY AND COMPANY

Masciarelli is now one of the symbolic wineries of Abruzzo and it is due to a profound and ironic personality like that of Gianni Masciarelli, who died recently, but who still accompanies us with his profound words and his wonderful wines: "Being by my part is not absolutely necessary and much less desirable: on the contrary, a dose of curiosity, as if faced with an alien creation, with an ironic resistance, it would seem to me an incomparably more intelligent position towards me ". The history of Masciarelli wines began over 30 years ago, when Gianni Masciarelli began his activity in 1981 in the small village of San Martino alla Merruccina, at the foot of the Maiella Madre and since then the love for his land, for his family and for his wine they never abandoned him. Even his wife Marina Cvetic, fascinated by this charismatic man, decided to start a line of wines of his own, where only and only she could decide what to produce and how. Here the Masciarelli winery becomes like a family, unique in front of the world, but composed of two distinct entities while remaining inseparable. Today the estates of the Masciarelli winery, on the whole, have an area of ​​320 hectares, of which 273 are vineyards, while in the remaining ones olive trees are cultivated for the production of an excellent oil of Abruzzo. In a few years, starting almost from nothing, the Masciarelli winery has become one of the largest wineries in Abruzzo and is destined to remain at the highest levels thanks to the contribution of Miriam, the founder's daughter, who carries on along with her mother the important legacy left by Gianni Masciarelli.
