HISTORY AND COMPANY
In the historic diatribe between Scotch whiskey and Irish whiskey, perhaps not everyone knows that the first to be born was precisely the latter! Legend has it that it was St. Patrick himself who brought back with him, from a trip to Egypt, the still, a strange device which was used to create perfumes and which the Irish, a shrewd and concrete people, immediately adapted to malt distillation. The word itself, which later became Whiskey, derives from a Gaelic term (Uisce Beatha) which meant water of life. Tullamore D.E.W. is a Blended produced by William Grant & Sons, a historic factory in the county of Offaly, distilled three times with a still called Irish Pot Still, it has a particularly soft and delicate taste, apparently sweet. Bright gold color, gives sweet sensations of fruit and biscuits, toffee, citrus fruit peel and vanilla. The taste reveals softness and body, re-proposes all the notes of toasting and pastry, with a nice finish of caramel and aromatic herbs. Perfect after dinner, relaxing, smooth or with an ice cube.
