Campo di Sasso was the last bet won by Lodovico Antinori, after the affirmation of the Tenuta di Biserno, of which it is a part, while maintaining its own production. The genius of Ornellaia and Masseto, in fact, after bringing his wines to the top of the highest peaks, has staked everything on the territories of Bibbona, a step away from Bolgheri, where - as Antinori himself recalls - the vineyards of his own “yes they meet exactly as happens between those of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol ”. It is from this, from this ambitious parallelism, that the Biserno and Campo di Sasso project was born, whose oenological advice was entrusted to Michel Rolland, the winemaker symbol of Bordeaux. Campo di Sasso, in particular, consists of several plots of vineyard land, on the western side of the road that connects Bibbona to Bolgheri. This area is characterized by mild winters and hot summers, where the soils have a more sandy conformation than elsewhere, the syrah finds - in particular - the ideal conditions for growth. And it is from 34% of syrah, to which are added a blend of cabernet franc, merlot and petit verdot, that we obtain the Toscana Rosso IGT "Insoglio del Cinghiale", an intense wine with aromas of red fruits and sweet, excellent sip with game
