HISTORY AND COMPANY
Poggio Argentiera is an important Maremma winery founded by the Tuscan oenologist Gianpaolo Paglia and his English wife Justine Keeling. Its origins date back to 1997, starting with the purchase of a farm dating back to the early 1900s, at the time of the rehabilitation of the Maremma, but its great development began in 2011, with the construction of the winery and the annexation of a new farm. The Poggio Argentiera winery thus brings together two areas of the Maremma which are particularly suited: the Podere Adua, which consists of 6 hectares of sandy and limestone soil immersed in a coastal microclimate characterized by high temperatures and low rainfall; the Keeling farm, located in the municipality of Scansano, at an altitude of 250 meters and made up of extremely stony terrain exposed to a cool and hilly climate. The production of Gianpaolo and Justine gives voice to the authentic expression of the Maremma territory and is oriented towards total respect for nature, its rhythms and the peculiar characteristics of the terroir. The wines of Poggio Argentiera are collecting, harvest after harvest, important appreciations, placing themselves as great wine representations of the Tuscan Maremma.
