HISTORY

In one of his writings, the poet of ancient Greece Leonidas of Taranto, who lived at the turn of the fourth and third centuries BC, spoke of the lands of Puglia as lands that, throughout the whole day, are illuminated by " every sun ". From this came the inspiration for the choice of the company name, of what is now one of the most interesting wine-making realities in all of Puglia and beyond. "Ognissole" is a story made of sun and heat, of sea, of wealth, of character and of elegance. Starting from a project aimed at enhancing the main local Apulian vines, the Ognissole company was structured in two distinct autonomous estates, the "Tenuta di Manduria" and the "Tenuta Cefalicchio" (the latter being biodynamically run and certified Demeter since 1992), each headed by its own vineyard, as well as each with its own cellar facilities. Spread over an area that, overall, covers an extension of almost eighty hectares, the company "Ognissole" sees the Tenuta di Manduria occupying the heart of the Primitivo production area, while the Tenuta di Cefalicchio is located at Canosa di Puglia, in the area of ​​Castel del Monte, in the area of ​​the Murgia. Among the rows, primitive and negroamaro are flanked by trojan black and moscato, and again by chardonnay and white bombino: vines bred with rigor and method, cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment, nature and ecosystem. Grapes that are interpreted in the cellar without ever outclassing what the season and the territory have been able to express in the fruit. The result of all this is given by labels that respond to the names of "Blum", "Mirante", "Essentia Loci", "Jalal", "Pietraia", "Pontelama", "Brecciato" and "Romanico": wines that tell what is the most beautiful Apulian oenology. Real wines, honest wines, sincere wines.
