Origin and History

Francesco Trussoni, master of stills in Gallo d'Alba. He had, as early as 1885, the brilliant intuition of creating the Barolo Grappa, the first single-vine variety in history. In 1922 the company passed under the guidance of Mario Montanaro and his wife Angela Trussoni who, together with their son Giuseppe Montanaro, were not only the perfectioners of the production processes, among other things with the adoption of steam stills, but also the heirs of a rigorous methodology that made use of the precious experiences and influences of the Alba Wine School. In a century, therefore, a sort of unrepeatable "ecosystem" came into being, where the Montanaro distillates, and in particular the Barolo Grappa, are the most sophisticated emblem of the qualities connected to a happy territory called Langa, in its many historical aspects. and cultural.
