Luigi Tecce's winery is located in the Trinità district in Paternopoli, in the DOCG area of Taurasi. Luigi represents the fourth generation of a family of winemakers, but he does not immediately follow the family tradition and begins his career as a jockey; not for nothing dedicates the Aglianico bottled in 2001 to Varenne, the great trotter, who in that year achieved his greatest triumphs. The death of his father, which took place in 1997, forced Luigi to leave the horses and return to his land to cultivate a little more than one hectare of vineyard planted with very old stumps, dating back to 1930. Today the old family vineyards are divided into small plots in Paternopoli, one of the most expressive territories of Taurasi, not only thanks to the altitude between 500 and 600 meters, but also due to the southern exposure, which allows a excellent ripening of the grapes. Luigi is a very noteworthy character, who loves to be against the tide, does not turn to a permanent winemaker, but accepts only the advice of his friend Vincenzo Mercurio. Its harvest always lasts much longer than that of other winegrowers in the area, since it collects the grapes one by one, as they reach perfect ripeness. His two wines, Aglianico "Satyricon" and Taurasi "Poliphemo", produced in less than 500 packs, are two pearls that shine with intense light in the Irpinia wine scene, and in their names contain the poetic soul and literary of Luigi.
