Fattoria La Massa
The farm La Massa is located in the famous Chianti Classico area, in Panzano in the Conca d'Oro. The 27 hectares of vineyards, dating back to the fifteenth century, have clay and limestone soils, particularly rich in schist, which give the wine the great minerality that marks this winery. The current owner, Giampaolo Motta, bought the property in 1992 after accumulating several years of experience in important and solid cellars of Chianti. With his friend and enologist Carlo Ferrini and later with Stéphane Derenouncour as a consultant, he get excellent results with its wines, which are a perfect blend of tradition and modernism. The company's philosophy is one of continuous improvement both in the vineyard and in the winery. In this perspective, the meticulous care of the vines and strict selection of the grapes is reflected in the basement, creating balanced wines, fine, complex and large and atypical personality. Giampaolo pours it in his wines the great love for France, especially Bordeaux, favoring varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
