Contrada Salandra

Contrada Salandra

HISTORY

Contrada Salandra is one of the most fascinating productive realities of the Campania wine scene, located north of Naples, in the municipality of Pozzuoli, in the heart of the Phlegraean Fields. Born in 2000 as an activity of organic beekeeping and production of honey, beeswax, royal jelly and propolis, from the desire of Giuseppe Fortunato and his wife Sandra to live in close contact with nature. Recovering a few hectares of family vineyard in the localities of Licola and Monteruscello, Giuseppe and his wife also inaugurated a small wine production based on the typical grape varieties of the area: Falanghina and Piedirosso. The constant attention to the territory and the desire to experiment have led them to recover even now disappeared grape varieties, whose strains are scattered among the vineyards: Ricciulella, Cavalla, Marsigliese, Colagiovanna and Coda di Cavalla.
