Chateau du Chatelard

Chateau du Chatelard

HISTORY

The Domaine Château du Châtelard is located in Lancié, in the Beaujolais. The estate includes 28 hectares of vineyards with excellent exposures, all planted before 1955. The soils are varied and include areas with clay-limestone, white limestone and more rocky areas of shale, granite and gneiss. A great wealth, which allows each grape variety to find the most suitable soil to express itself to the best of its potential. All the vineyards are cultivated with grassing of the rows, in order to preserve and promote biodiversity. Respect for nature is an important value, like the low impact of each treatment in the vineyard. Manual harvesting, only when the grapes are perfectly ripe and the careful selection and vinification in the cellar, contribute to producing high quality wines, which reflect the characteristics of the wonderful Beaujolais terroir.
