HISTORY AND COMPANY
Maison Massenez was founded in 1870; Jean-Baptiste Massenez, own distiller of the Val di Villé, in Alsace, paves the way for his son Eugène, who will soon gain great fame by distilling, for the first time, the wild raspberry, the same that will become, then, the favorite of the queen of Sweden. The third generation will then give a real boost to the distillery: the Massenez spirits will easily find their place in the famous Parisian bistros and even in the large star-studded houses; will be exported to New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo and served at the Elysee and the Cannes festival. Always intransigent about quality, Massenez is today known throughout the world for its brandies, such as Framboise Sauvage and Poire Williams, but also for its more sugary liqueurs, such as Crème de Pêches or de Cassis; seeing its value regularly recognized in international competitions, the Maison will see itself repaid with all its efforts by receiving, in 1980, the World Quality Oscar. In 1982, Manou Massenez took over as head of the Maison; under its witty female eye, the Massenez spirits will continue its run, reaching to touch, in the export, over 100 countries. The master distillers of the Maison Massenez have always used their spirits and liqueurs, cherries, plums, raspberries and pears as if they were colors, giving each product vividness, intensity and character, so it is not surprising that, currently, the company export 70% of the production and that is, consequently, present in all five continents. A symbol, also, of a certain lifestyle, Massenez spirits combine quality and originality; under the guidance, then, of Mr Bernard Baud, Manou Massenez and Elodie Naslin the distillery aims to hit, with its production, the taste of women, a new consumer profile that, in recent years, is approaching with growing interest, to the historically male world of distillates.
