History and Terroir
Francesco and Laura, a Calabrian and a Friulian, united by a passion for nature and art. For us, being winemakers means acting with responsibility in the area, encouraging biodiversity, respecting the slow times of agriculture. ‘A Vita in the Calabrian dialect means the vine, the grape plant with which our wines maintain a deep bond. We are in Calabria, in the historic area of Cirò, where the vine has been cultivated for over 2500 years. Eight hectares, four biologically grown vineyards overlooking the shores of the Ionian Sea, between the sea and the Sila mountains. Copper and sulfur used sparingly. Overgrown and reduced tillage to preserve fertility and promote soil biodiversity. We cultivate Calabrian native vines, the best interpreters of our terroir: Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Greco black and white.
