Calvados Lecompte Originel Pays d'auge controllée
The Lecompte distillery is one of the oldest and most traditional houses of Calvados, founded in 1923 by the merchant Alexandre Lecompte. Today the maison consists of a small farm in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, surrounded by those orchards from which the best apples of the whole region are born. In the 8 underground cellars rest about 800 small oak barrels, where Calvados rest and ripen. Lecomptè is an artisan producer, its tools are two stills of 25 hectoliters and oak barrels of 200-400 liters. Backed by an experience of over a quarter of a century, the maître Richard Prével works to give each distillate a unique personality and characteristics, but above all the ancient taste of tradition. The goal is simple, even if making it is very difficult and requires great skill, talent and artistic inspiration: achieving the perfect aromatic balance. Every Calvados from the Lecompte fashion house is a small masterpiece: "the value of a treasure lies in its secret", the maitre de chai Richard Prével loves to repeat and, in fact, every bottle produced preserves this secret, the result of tradition and talent. The Calvados of Lecompte mature in wood from 2 years up to several decades. These are great and majestic expressions of Normandy: unmissable Calvados for lovers and for all lovers of good wine.
