If the terroir in which Torrevilla lives and works should have a unique name, it would be Oltrepò Pavese. A large area with a very ancient history, which has reached the present day through absolutely peculiar events, dictated above all by its being, in large part, a set of separate and independent jurisdictions. Autonomous political and historical realities, such as the ecological and pedoclimatic differences between the different coasts of the same hill, which however have a common background and history. Popular traditions, work in the vineyards, love for the land over the years have created an absolutely unique natural and human environment, which from harvest to harvest returns to the cellar to give life to the wine. That same wine that, tasted, not only offers sensory stimuli, but also emotions and sensations of the whole terroir. The wine thus tells a complex Oltrepò, in which agriculture and the rural imprint, the truth and the simplicity of country life meet the vicissitudes of the Marquises Malaspina, the Counts Gambarana and great noble families; speak the illustrious Italian language with Dante's stay in these places; they are reflected in the refined medieval art still visible in various churches and abbeys. Terroir is a French word, but refers to the most intimate identity of a winery: Torrevilla, with its many winemakers, collects and narrates in each wine their lives and an unquenchable passion for quality, which is above all the ability to put in every bottle a world, ours, to discover and savor with every sip.
