HISTORY AND COMPANY
It was the beginning of the 20th century, 1904 to be precise, when the social cellar "Ai Vini delle Langhe" was founded in Serralunga d'Alba which, however, after a little less than twenty years began to have serious budget problems and was put into liquidation. In 1922, Alfredo Prunotto chose to take over the company, giving it its name at the same time. Since then, year after year, success has been uninterrupted, and the Prunotto winery has started exporting wines all over the world. In 1954, the same Alfredo Prunotto decided to cede the company to his winemaker friend Beppe Colla, who in his turn, in 1994, chose to sell the winery to the family of the Marchesi Antinori. Currently, the Prunotto estate covers a total area of about fifty hectares of vineyards, divided between some of the best Piedmontese wine areas, such as Bussia, Bric Turot and Costamiole. Among the rows, the vines are treated with rigor and perseverance, raised as if they were children, and cultivated in full respect of the environment, nature and ecosystem. In the cellar, while relying on the most modern enological technologies, the main objective is always to enhance and enhance what the season and the territory have been able to express in the fruit. It is in this way that the Prunotto wine company comes to propose an important range of labels, divided between the classic line and the line of selections, the latter created to enhance the individual crus. From Barolo to Barbaresco, passing through Grignolino, Roero and Moscato d'Asti, one arrives at Barbera and Dolcetto: this is how the Prunotto wines are distinguished by one of the most prized Piedmontese and enologically speaking names. for years they have become famous interpreters of some of the most prestigious denominations of all of Piedmont and beyond, proving to be profoundly elegant and extremely refined.
