HISTORY AND COMPANY

The Fratelli Tedeschi winery is a historical production company of Valpolicella that boasts four centuries of traditions and that, enhancing the richness of the terroir, has been able to create a unique and modern style: powerful and elegant wines, endowed with great typicality and character. The Tedeschi style, linked to the territory, to the native vines but also to the most innovative production methods, was born in the 1960s, when Lorenzo Tedeschi had the intuition to separately vinify the grapes from the Monte Olmi vineyard, giving rise to one of the first cru of Valpolicella. Today the work in the vineyard and in the winery is supervised by Riccardo, Antonietta and Sabrina, pioneers throughout the territory of a healthy viticulture that respects the environment, where ancient family traditions are perfectly combined with science and new technologies. Starting from the historic Monte Olmi vineyard, in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, the Tedeschi family is today the owner of three other vineyards located in the Pedemonte di Valpolicella area: La Fabriseria vineyard, Tenuta Manternigo, Lucchine vineyard. The winery has a modern fermentation room (equipped with the latest generation of horizontal and vertical fermenters), an aging room (where Slavonian oak barrels are stored) and a technologically advanced loft, managed by a computerized system. The wines of the Tedeschi family are those typical of the Valpolicella area, the Valpolicella and the Valpolicella Ripasso stand out, but above all the Amarone, at the top of the denomination, among the most charismatic and representative. These are precise and clean wines, expertly cared for, able to best express the Valpolicella terroir.
